MarketSource

MarketSource is where buyers ask you for prices, information and proposals. When a buyer sends your company a request, it arrives in the supplier portal under Request Responses. You review it, answer it there, and the buyer is notified when you send your response.

Request types

  • Request for Quotation (RFQ): the buyer lists the items they need, and you quote prices, delivery times and shipping for each one.
  • Request for Information (RFI): the buyer sends a form asking for information. You answer it and select Send Submission.
  • Request for Proposal (RFP): the buyer sends a form asking for a proposal. You answer it and select Send Proposal.

Where to find it

  • Request Responses in the navigation menu lists every request you have received. Filter it by Store, Type and Status, or search by title.
  • Request Settings, under Request Responses, controls which team members receive and can respond to requests, for each store, country and region.

Your team only sees requests covered by your RFQ settings, so set these up first.

Getting set up

  • RFQ Settings: choose who on your team receives and responds to requests, for each store, country and region.

Responding to requests

  • Find Requests: find the requests buyers have sent you, filter them, and understand their statuses.
  • Create a Quote: price an RFQ, save drafts, edit a sent quote, and convert quoted items to products.
  • Respond to RFIs and RFPs: complete the buyer's form, track required fields, save drafts, and send your response.

Working with the buyer

  • Drafts: save a response as a draft and come back to it later. The buyer only sees it once you send it.
  • Chat: every request has a chat button, so you can ask the buyer questions without leaving the request.
  • Deadlines: each request has a close date. After it passes, you can no longer send or change a response.
