Manufacturer
Extended information on the manufacturer field.
Overview
Use the manufacturer attribute to indicate the product's manufacturer name. The manufacturer is used to help identify your product and will be shown to customers.
When to use
- Required for each product, simple or complex. If your company is the manufacturer, use your company's name.
- Not accepted on a variant. The manufacturer is set once on the parent product, and every
variant reports the manufacturer of the product it belongs to. A
manufacturersent inside a variant is ignored.

Guidelines
Follow these guidelines to make sure that you submit high quality data for your products.
Minimum requirements
These are the requirements that you'll need to meet to show your product. If you don't follow these requirements, we could reject your product.
- Use the manufacturer's name of the product that people shopping online generally will recognise.
- Avoid providing a value that's not a manufacturer. For example, don't use 'N/A', 'Generic', 'No manufacturer' or 'Does not exist'.
Best practices
These best practices can help you go beyond the basic requirements to optimise your product data for performance.
- Submit the publisher name as the manufacturer for media products such as CDs.
- Submit the manufacturer in the language of the rest of the product. For example, if your products target Japan, submit
グーグルorGoogle, but do not submit(Google) グーグル'.
